THE PARENTS-TEACHERS ASSOCIATION

The school has an active and vibrant Parents-Teachers Association. The PTA collaborates with the school management to improve the facilities available at the school, provide financial aid to the needy students, celebrate days and events of national importance, and felicitate meritorious students. The PTA also holds periodical meetings to discuss ways and means to improve the school’s systems and procedures.


Some of PTA's notable initiatives during the past years have been:
1.

Installation of public address system in all classrooms.

2.

Provision of soft boards in all classrooms.

3.

Financial aid to the needy students for purchase of uniforms and/or books.

4.

Upgradation of the school's library.

5.

Upgradation of the school's laboratory.

6.

Organisation of career guidance talks.

7.

Institution of PTA awards for meritorious students.

PTA's Special Awards for Meritorious Students
The Parents-Teachers Association of Bhatikar Model High School has instituted Special Awards for meritorious students of the school, in the following categories:

1. 

Students who participate in the following events and win either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize at the State level.

a.

Science Quiz

b.

Science Project

c.

National Green Corps Project / Quiz

d.

Maths Quiz

e.

Maths Project


2.


Students who win either 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize at General Knowledge Quiz / Elocution Competitions / Story Telling Competitions / Debates organized at all-Goa level by recognized institutions.

3.

Students who win either 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize at the State level Sports events organized by the Directorate of Sports, Sports Authority of Goa or other recognized institutions.

4.

Students who are selected to represent Goa State at national level sports events.

5.

Students who win either 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize at the State level events in Performing/Creative Art, organized by the Directorate of Art & Culture, Bal Bhavan or other recognized institutions.

6.

Students who qualify for the national level qualifying round of the Bal Shree Awards, i.e., students who are awarded the state-level Gomant Bal Bhushan award.

7. 

The PTA has also instituted Special Awards for:

a.

Students who are awarded the National Talent Search Scholarship by NCERT.

b.

Students who secure either a State Scholarship or District Scholarship at the Maharashtra Talent Search Examination.

c.

Students who figure in the state merit list of the Goa Talent Search Examination.

d.

Students who figure in the state merit list of the Science Talent Search Examination conducted by SCERT.

e.

Students who figure in the state merit list of the Mathematics Competitive Test conducted by All Goa Maths Teachers' Association.

f.

Students who figure in the merit list of any such competitive examination held either at the state or the national level.

g.

Students who represent the state at the National Level Children's Science Congress, Western India Science Fair and such other national level academic events.



These awards are presented every year on the occasion of Children's Day on 14th November.
