NATURE CAMP OF MODEL NATURE CLUB - 2008-09
For the students of the Model Nature Club of Bhatikar Model High School the New Year 2009 unfolded with an exciting nature camp to Amboli. On the 3rd and 4th of January, the students of the Model Nature Club were taken to an overnight nature camp to picturesque Amboli, a small hill-station in the Sahyadri Mountains as a part of the nature club activities planned for the year 2008-09.
28 students and two teachers, Tr Precilla and Tr. Rati were accompanied by the Director of WWF Mr. Nitin Sawant and nature lovers Mr. Sangam and Miss Trupti Bhagwat. Resource Persons and environmentalists Mr. Suhas Vaingankar and Mr Ravi Bambure from Kolhapur were a storehouse of information on plants, butterflies and other flora and fauna endemic to the Western Ghats.

NATURE CLUB

The Nature Club of Bhatikar Model High School, known as Model Nature
Club, undertakes several activities with a view to sensitize students to the issues of Nature and Environment Conservation.
The Club has 50 student members drawn from Stds. VI, VII and VIII, selected on the basis of a written test based on nature and environment studies. Students are then divided into five groups -
Dodos, Blackbucks, Turtles, Dinosaurs and Pandas.
The Nature Club is affiliated to the Goa Chapter of WWF India and undertakes several activities and projects round the academic year. The regular activities of the Club are:

Publication of a monthly wallpaper titled VALLAREE on environmental issues, especially with reference to the biodiversity of Goa.

Participation in the annual project-based activities of the National Green Corps, Goa Chapter.

Study visits / Nature trails.

Slide / Film shows and talks on environmental issues.
