BHATIKAR MODEL PRIMARY SCHOOL

ADMISSIONS
The primary school has only one division each from Std. I to IV. Admissions to Std. I are conducted every year in the months of February-March. Maximum 44 students are admitted to Std. I on the basis of merit as reflected in the combined scores of the written test and interview. No admissions are granted to Std. II, III and IV.
SYLLABUS
The school has adopted the revised curriculum as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research & Training (NCERT), New Delhi, for assessment subjects English, Mathematics and Environment Studies (EVS). The school also teaches Konkani as a compulsory second language.
PEDAGOGY
In accordance with the guidelines prescribed by NCERT for primary education, the school adheres to the principle of learning without burden. Education at the school is largely activity based, and attempts to connect learning with life, and aims at not just the mental development of the child, but also the physical and the emotional development. The school emphasizes upon collaborative learning and group activities to encourage synergy among students.

SYLLABUS
The school teaches curriculum as prescribed by the Directorate of Education, Goa, and the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education.
ADMISSIONS
Admissions to Std. V are conducted every year in the month of April. Maximum 84 students are admitted to Std. V purely on the basis of merit as reflected in the final average of Std. IV in the assessment subjects of English, Second Language, Mathematics and Environment Studies, irrespective of the medium of instruction in Std. IV.
Admissions to Stds. VI-X are granted on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination, and subject to availability of seats.
ACTIVITIES
One of the hallmarks of education at Bhatikar Model High School is the fine balance between curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities throughout the year. The school conducts various intramural activities such as general knowledge quiz, elocution contests, story telling, patriotic singing contest etc. and trains its students to participate in all-Goa competitions. It also encourages its students to participate in the all-Goa talent search examinations in the field of mathematics and science.
